To bring together diverse artists and their work and techniques in creative and educational ways for the benefit of the greater community and the enrichment of the fine arts.
Anita Jain, Common Strands’ founder and CEO, is a liaison between reputable venues and Finnish artists. She works with the venues, such as the American Swedish Institute and Textile Center and others, to bring Finnish artists and their work to the US. She travels to Finland to meet artists and offer them the opportunity to exhibit at the chosen venues. Using her creative event-planning and visual skills, she works alongside the venues and artists to create, organize, and execute events, which may include (among many other unique methods) exhibitions, lectures, talks, workshops, and classes.
Please visit the Previous Events page for previous exhibits.
